Nevermind, stop it already!

Ok, 2008, stop it. Seriously. We've had a flat tire on a crazy busy interstate (okay, that was actually last December), hubby being laid off, and a wiped computer hard drive so far. On the other hand, I stepped onto a picture frame the other day, and true to the German saying "Scherben bringen Glück" (shards bring you luck), nothing bad has happened since. I guess that's reason enough to become superstitious at my old age.

Martha Stewart's tissue paper pom-poms which, for some strange reason, are actually delightfully simple and quick to make, totally unlike her usual crazed, labor- and material-intensive projects. She must be getting old, too.
