Eeek.

We went to Ernie Miller park, only for about 1/3 of the trail since it was still super muddy, but hubby's eagle eyes spotted a SNAKE! Just a harmless little garter snake, less than 2 feet long and rapidly disappearing into the forest (muttering swear words under his breath, probably), but still...

Thank goodness I kinda like snakes (although I can never remember which ones are venomous and which ones are harmless...).

Still Easter where I'm from!

Today's Easter Monday in Germany. Still a holiday! I'm celebrating this holiday by raiding CVS' after-Easter candy sale, of course.

Easter

Put some rubber bands around the Easter eggs this year, hoping for a more interesting pattern. Meh. I guess we didn't use enough rubber bands :/

Then I baked a super yummy Easter braid following this recipe, and had ham, potatoes, and asparagus with Hollandaise sauce for Easter dinner. Hah, my mother would be so proud of me ;-)

Going to the park, oh boy!

Yep, it's spring time again so we're going to the park any chance we get! I love having 5 parks within about 20 minutes' driving.

Peeps!

Easter is approaching, and it is time for the annual fun with peeps. Peeps, for the uninitiated, are marshmallow candies shaped like bunnies and chicks, covered in neon colored sugar, that pop up every Easter (and various other holidays throughout the year) to be either eaten or misused for fun. "Explode a peep in the microwave" is a popular one. There are plenty of newspaper contests where people send in photos of what they did to (or with) their peeps.

Well, here's my own little contribution. I call it: "Black Ninja wins - but at what price?"

Häagen Dasz Ice Cream Tasting!

I got the entire line of new Häagen Dasz "five" to taste and test. "Five" contains exactly, you guessed it, five, all-natural ingredients and comes in exciting flavors like passion fruit and ginger. Yum!

April Fools!

Yeah okay, to my defense I have to say, I got this newsletter from ThinkGeek (my favorite online store for all things geeky) and read it this morning, pre-caffeine and still slightly woozy from a bad night's sleep, but that still doesn't explain why it took me almost 'til the END of the video to realize that "Squeez Bacon", the awesome new squeezable bacon from a tube, was a joke :/

Meh. I'd buy it. Hey, the Swedes make salmon in a tube, it's not THAT much of a stretch!
