Kraft Werke

(get it? Works of Craft?) A little memory kickstarter for this and that, crafts and cooking, shoes, ships, sealing wax...

Les Peeps

Finished my chicks yesterday!
Followed the instructions on this page:
http://www.maizehutton.com/pompompeeps.html
(I used store bought pom poms, though). It didn't take much more than an hour. Just the perfect project for somebody with a short attention span!

Happy Easter to all

Yay, Easter Sunday! We went to Le Peep for breakfast (Coffee with Vanilla & Cinnamon, Swedish Pancakes, Eggs Benedict Florentine, Ginseng Smoothie, hmm!)

Bic Runga - Get Some Sleep

(Hey, they just played that at Kohl's - that's one happening place there...)

Das Alte Land

I just followed some links and got an instant little pang of homesickness:

http://www.3meilenvorhamburg.de/bildergalerie.php

This is the "Alte Land" near Hamburg (Germany), the largest fruit growing area in Europe. It's also quite touristy; you can ride your bike, do guided tours, visit country inns etc.

Funny stuff

http://www.stuffonmycat.com/
a site where people can send in photos of, quite literally, stuff on their cat. Duh!

the "top favorites" are pretty good

http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/go_fug_yourself/
hehe. who needs People magazine?

http://www.meankitty.com/
got one of my own right here!

http://automatedredemption.com/flavorcountry/dogblog/
This guy walks around San Francisco taking pictures of random doggies. The comments are delightful: "With just his eyes and nothing else, this dude attempted to negotiate with me the purchase of an eighteen-foot-tall powered-armor robot battle suit, for purposes unspecified. He seemed unfazed that such a thing did not actually exist. Sometimes it's good that dachshunds don't get any bigger than they do."

Yeah, I know I'm too old for those...

But, good Lord, if this isn't the most adorable thing you've ever seen! And with a bow tie!
http://pieknits.blogspot.com/2006/04/skullicious.html

So, I've made some windowcolor bunnies. Instant gratification! And I pseudo-decorated for Easter (vase, 3 sticklike twigs [no buds yet, spring being just around the corner], and orange striped eggs from IKEA).

The bright orange "Flip Flop Piece of Happiness" (or: Electroflower, as William calls it) has arrived from Ebay and it is tiny and delightful! Now, of course, I'm thinking how much more delightful it would be if there were at least 2 more, softly bobbing their leaves in the sunshine...

Little blue dude

I just found this little guy on Craftster. Isn't he the cutest EVER! I don't know whether he's supposed to be a monster or a cat, but hey, there's not that much of a difference sometimes, is there (I bear the scars to prove it). Must buy FELT and try it out!

Things to do on a Saturday in the suburbs

Today's fun, fun, fun event:

Drive-by-booking: The act of donating books to the local library by throwing them out of the driving car.
(ok, we actually stopped and shlepped the boxes to the elevator!)

Sam's Club gave out one-day visitor passes for today. Now we are the proud owners of six boxes of cereal, ten pounds of frozen meatballs and two dozen sausages with spinach and cheese. Paar-TAY!!

Conversation this morning *me fiddling around with the toaster - which is being somewhat hesitant spitting out the English muffins*:
"Honey, stop playing around with the toaster!"
"Actually, I'm just trying to kill it!"
Aaahaaha. The fun we have.
